I really struggled with the noise levels. It was impossible to get a decent night's sleep, with loud guests in the common area and early risers stomping around. There's no quiet policy, so it felt chaotic and frustrating all night long.

I loved the cleanliness of the hotel; everything felt fresh and well-maintained. The comfortable beds and modern facilities made my stay enjoyable. The location was convenient, being just a short walk from the station, and the rooftop offered fine views of the iconic mountain, a highlight of my trip.
Rooms were quite small; not for long stays.

The building and room design were jaw-dropping. The owner's kindness allowed us an early check-in. The rooftop offered a mind-blowing view of Mt Fuji, though a couple of chairs for chilling would have made it even better!

I stayed at Hostel 1889 for a quick weekend getaway and had a fantastic experience. The check-in process was seamless, and they sent me all the necessary information via email since I arrived late at night. The hostel's design and style were impeccable, and the rooftop view of Mt Fuji was a delightful bonus. The shower amenities were top-notch, with high-quality products and even hair dryers and straighteners available. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the entire place was spotlessly clean. Plus, its convenient location made it easy for me to explore all the sightseeing spots I wanted to visit.
I would be happy to recommend this hotel.

We had a great stay at a lovely hostel in the beautiful city of Fujiyoshida. The room was small but clean and nicely decorated, giving us a cozy and comfortable experience. The staff were friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. We also appreciated the convenient location near Fuji-San station, making it easy to explore the area. Although there were a few drawbacks, such as the noisy street outside and the lack of luggage storage, overall I highly recommend this hostel for its modern Japanese style, cleanliness, and great value.

The location was great, just next to the train station, making it convenient to explore the surrounding areas. The kitchen had a lot of equipment available, which was useful for cooking our own meals. the free coffee and tea were a nice touch, giving us a little pick-me-up in the mornings.
There were a lot of drawbacks during our stay. the bunk beds were extremely uncomfortable, with thin mattresses that made it difficult to get a good night's sleep.

The room I stayed in had a balcony with a fantastic city view. It made me feel like I was on top of the world! I loved that certain rooms had a kitchen with a fridge, microwave, and stovetop. It made cooking my own meals so convenient. The quadruple room I was in had a private entrance, air conditioning, and even a washing machine. It felt like my own little home away from home! The bathrooms were well-equipped with separate bathtubs and showers, and they even provided toothbrushes and toothpaste. It made me feel well taken care of.
That the double room did not have a tumble dryer. But hey, it's not a big deal, as I managed to dry my clothes in other ways.

We had a wonderful stay at this hostel. The recently renovated Hostel 1889 exceeded our expectations. It was extremely clean and the public areas were very inviting. The beds were comfortable and provided a good night's sleep. The location was perfect, just a short walk from the train station, shops, and restaurants. This made it convenient to explore the beautiful area around Mount Fuji. The hostess was incredibly kind and gave us a warm welcome, providing valuable information about the local area. We were also impressed by her generosity when we forgot some luggage at the hostel. Despite being unable to return to retrieve it, she went out of her way to ship our belongings to us in Kagoshima. We were truly grateful for her kindness and it made our trip even more memorable.
Couldn't find any faults at all! 🙂
